Meet the Owner

Ethan Sorenson
Hello! My name is Ethan Sorenson, and I am the owner and program coordinator of Sorenson Driving Academy.
I have been involved in driver’s education since the age of 22, serving as both a classroom instructor and behind-the-wheel instructor with Sioux City Schools and Western Iowa Tech Community College. In addition, I hold a Class B CDL and maintain a perfect driving record.
Outside of driver’s education, I am a high school English teacher and girls wrestling coach. As a lifelong Sioux City resident, I attended Northside public schools, graduating from North High School before continuing my education at Morningside University, where I also competed in collegiate wrestling.
I live in Sioux City with my wife, Makayla, who is an elementary teacher and cheer coach. Together, we are passionate about education and working with students.
After several years in driver’s education, I saw an opportunity to create a program that better supports today’s busy families. I founded Sorenson Driving Academy to provide a flexible, high-quality experience that helps students build confidence while fitting into their schedules.
